About
My name is Starr Callahan and I am a recent graduate from the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Photography and Video. Due to growing up in a predominately female household I gravitate towards photographing women. My portraiture, along with most of my work, plays with themes of femininity and sexuality. These portraits provide an outlet for me, as well as my models, to be able to express ourselves and create freely in a collaborative environment. Most of my experimental work includes still lives of jewelry and lingerie, photographing nights out with friends and short fashion videos. You can find me gallery hopping in Chelsea on Thursday nights or wondering through the many SVA galleries to stay inspired and support my fellow creatives.
